"The Issue:
The Canadian government has developed very good regulations called: The Proposed Regulatory Amendments to Enhance the Labelling of Allergen, Gluten Sources and Added Sulphites. These are vital to those with food allergies or celiac disease. Not knowing what is in a food can result in a life-threatening reaction or cause intestinal damage.
The problem? The regulations have stalled from moving forward into law.
In July 2008, the government promised they would be passed following a review process. That ended in early 2010. And still – they are not law.

On behalf of the groups who are involved in our continuing campaign – Allergic Living, Anaphylaxis Canada, the Canadian Celiac Association and the AAIA – I urge your support today in a new campaign to pass these regulations.
Your voice will make a difference, so act today.
On the next page, Allergic Living provides a letter you can e-mail directly to Minister Stockwell Day, the President of the Treasury Board, and to Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
Why Mr. Day? Because the regulations are stalled at the Treasury Board level.
Thank you very much for your continued support of the Lobby for Clear Food Labels. Allergic Living will post updates on the Forum.
Ask your family and friends as well to support the campaign. The more voices, the more likely we will convince the political leaders to act.
Thank you – and spread the word!"
