Upper Canada Cheese Company

Upper Canada Cheese Company

“The cheesemakers at Upper Canada Cheese Company are dedicated to producing finely crafted semi-soft artisan cheeses made from one of the richest and healthiest cow’s milk which is Guernsey. With access to the milk of a single herd and the issuance of a “rare” new license for a creamery, we are proud to revive a cheesemaking tradition in Niagara that goes back to the early beginnings of our nation. In doing so, we pledge to use the freshest and purest ingredients possible: to exceed the highest quality standards we know while hand making our cheeses.”

Brooks Farms

Mount Albert

“Brooks Farms started in the mid 1800’s when Edward Brooks, a bright-eyed London bobbie, decided to bring his family from England to Canada. After spending a few years closer to the town of Uxbridge, Edward moved the family a little further west towards Mount Albert, and set up home base at our current location.
For over 150 years the farm grew corn, wheat, barley, turnips, potatoes, and all sorts of farm animals. In 1990, the forth generation farmer, Alvin Brooks and his wife Brenda, decided that growing pick your own strawberries and raspberries would help put their sons and daughter through school. In 1994, their second oldest son, Paul, decided to farm full-time with his father.
In 1998, after several years of growth with strawberries and raspberries, Brooks Farms started to offer pick your own pumpkins, and the Fall Fun Festival was born. Thousands of visitors have enjoyed the entertainment, as well as the homemade jams and jellies, and fresh fruit and vegetables available at the farm.”

Mornington Hertiage Cheese

Millbank

“Building on a tradition of local excellence and community involvement, Mornington Heritage Cheese and Dairy Co-operative is committed to producing the finest goat’s milk products possible.
Mornington’s farmers feed their goats only vegetable-based feed and carefully tend to the little details, helping to ensure Mornington’s goat’s milk products are among the best in Ontario.
Located in Millbank, in the heart of Perth County’s dairy farming community, Mornington produces small batches of milk and cheese in its own processing plant to ensure the highest possible quality and freshness.
From our pure-tasting goat’s milk – which is lower in cholesterol and is easier to digest than cow’s milk – to our delightful variety of soft, semi-soft and hard goat cheeses, Mornington is proud to offer you a healthy, great-tasting choice.”

Monforte Dairy

Millbank

“In a world gone mad for innovation and change, it’s the small pleasures that keep us sane. And in the constellation of small pleasures that salve the mind and nourish the body, what trumps the sheer sensual deliciousness of a well-crafted cheese?
At Monforte, we’re convinced the small things do indeed make a difference, that agriculture is best practiced on a human scale, and that our cheeses, each in its own quiet way, reflect something a little deeper than the technology behind mass manufactured food – a little of the poetry and passion of life itself.
We believe quality is as much our creative capital as the astonishingly good milk our shepherds bring us. Our sheperds are our chief collaborators in building a sustainable sheep dairy industry and in assuring the welfare of the sheep whos milk we use.”
